Delaware Pro-Life Community Outraged at Leniency for Abortion Doctor
Wilmington, Delaware, January 8, 2014 – The Delaware
Board of Medical Licensure and Discipline has shown a callous disregard for the
public health and safety by letting Dr. Timothy Liveright get away with a
nominal fine and a letter of reprimand.
The Board is remiss in its decision, playing abortion politics, and
further endangering women’s lives by allowing a butcher like Liveright to walk
away with no significant consequences for his horrific behavior.
Liveright was deemed
a “clear and immediate danger to the public,” by the Attorney General’s office
last year after an investigation into the Planned Parenthood clinic where he
worked, sparked by the complaints of former employees. Liveright himself admitted to sexual harassment
and numerous instances of misconduct.
According to the three former employees who testified at two legislative
hearings in 2013, they witnessed a laundry list of offenses by Liveright at the
clinic, including unsafe and unsanitary practices that put women’s health and
lives at risk. During early 2013,
Liveright was responsible for five medical emergencies from botched abortions
in a period of six weeks.
To dismiss such egregious transgressions is an affront not
only to the medical profession, but to the women harmed by Liveright, and the
integrity of those who sought to do the right thing in reporting his
misconduct. Where will he strike next?
